If you are uncomfortable working with electrical appliances, unable to follow these guidelines, or do not have
the necessary equipment; consult a licensed electrician.
1. Make sure power supply from the circuit panel is OFF.
2. Remove one of the junction box covers at either end of the
baseboard heater.
3. Connect the supply ground wire to the copper pigtail provided
in the junction box. If no pigtail is in this junction box, you will
need to move it from the junction box at the other end of the
heater to the end being wired.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
Turn the electrical power off at the electrical panel board (circuit breaker or fuse box) and lock or tag the panel board
door to prevent someone from turning on power while you are working on the heater. Failure to do so could result in
serious electrical shock, burns, or possible death.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

BTF1 & BTF2
Please read through these instructions before
proceeding with installation of the "BTF1" or
"BTF2" thermostat into a Cadet series "F" base-
board
Tools Required: Phillips Screwdriver,
Insulated Wire Connectors (Wire Nuts®)
4. Connect wires according to appropriate diagram on back page.
5. Attach the thermostat to the baseboard heater with hooked edge at
top and the screw at the bottom.
6. After turning power on at the circuit panel, turn the thermostat knob
fully clockwise. When room reaches comfort level, turn knob coun-
terclockwise until the heater turns off. The heater will automatically
cycle around this preset temperature.
