10.10 Use

Always and only use the rear push bar to push the chair and never push it using other gripping
points. It is recommended always to have a backrest inclination of around 20°. Before moving
on a sloping surface, be aware of your own ability and limits in doing so. Ask qualified personnel
for advance on moving techniques. Assistance is recommended in all cases for surfaces with
a gradient over 10%. Avoid sudden movements if it is necessary to stop on a sloping surface.
Do not use the wheel brakes to slow down on a descent. Do not suddenly change direction
on a descent. Always ask someone to assist you when going up and down stairs, locking the
brakes on the commode chair. If two people are lifting the commode chair, avoid gripping
it at points that could be dangerous to the patient, such as the footplates and armrests, and
use only the frame and the rear grips.
Use of the large rear wheels
For commode chair RC340-xx, take stairs (from around 1 cm up to 3 cm) in reverse, with rear
wheels of ø 600 mm
The ø 600 mm rear wheels are used when the wheelchair is self-propelled. Grip the handrail
on the wheel and push it in the desired direction.
WARNING!
• Do not put pressure on the footrest when getting into and out of the chair.

11. MAINTENANCE

The products in the MOPEDIA range by Moretti have been carefully checked and CE marked
when placed on sale.
For patient and doctor safety, have the product checked at least every two years by the
manufacturer or by an authorised laboratory to verify its suitability for use. Use only original
replacement parts and accessories for repairs.
• It is extremely important to check the device before using it for the first time. In particular,
check that all the screws and bolts are properly tightened.
• The mechanical parts of the device can move correctly (backrest, leg rest, armrests, wheels, etc.).
• Check that the wheel brakes are working properly.
• Check the mechanical parts (hinges and pins) once a month and lubricate them with a drop
of oil to ensure they slide easily and to avoid wear.
The commode chairs in the MOPEDIA range by MORETTI only need a few simple and periodic
maintenance operations. The periodic checks to carry out are listed below:
Element
Lubrication (pins, couplings, joints, etc.)
Braking capacity
Cleaning the seat upholstery
General check by qualified personnel
