CAUTION
!
When working on the pump or switch,
always unplug the pump power cord in addition to removing the fuse
or shutting off the circuit breaker before working on the pump.
This unit is permanently lubricated. Oiling is not required.
Do not, in any case, open the sealed portion of the unit
or remove housing screws.

NOTICE
!
Inspect and test the sump system
condition and operation every 3 months (more frequently
in heavy use applications).
1.
LET PUMP COOL FOR A MINIMUM OF 2 HOURS BEFORE
ATTEMPTING TO SERVICE.
a. Submersible pumps contain oil that becomes pressurized
and hot under normal operating conditions.
2. Check the power cords and electrical outlet for
damage or corrosion.
a. The power cord on these units cannot be replaced.
In case of damage the whole unit must be replaced.
3. Remove all debris (gravel, sand, floating debris, etc.)
from the sump basin.
4. Review sump system components for any build-up (minerals,
etc.) that would inhibit functionality of the components.
a. If significant, remove build-up or replace
affected components.
5. Confirm that all flexible coupling hose clamps are fully engaged
with plumbing and fully tightened.
6. Test operation of the sump system following the instructions
outlined in the "Sump System Operation Testing" section
of this manual.
7.
While the pump is running, make sure a stream of water is
escaping from the air bleed hole.
a. If not, clear the hole of any deposits or debris.

CLEANING IMPELLER AND VOLUTE
Periodic cleaning of the pump parts will prolong the life and
efficiency of the pump. Refer to the assembly and disassembly
of the pumping head.

Remove the 5 screws that hold the base to the volute,
then separate the base from the volute.

impeller or seals have been removed.
a. Any repair on the motor must be done by an authorized
Little Giant service center.
3. Remove the base and clean the impeller and the volute passage.
Do not use strong solvents on the impeller.

Removal of the impeller requires special tools and is to be
done only by an authorized service center.
4. Be sure the impeller turns freely after cleaning.
5. Attach the base to the volute and secure it with the 5 screws.
