IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

This appliance cooks with pressure. When using electrical appliances, basic safety
precautions should be followed, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
2. This appliance should not be used near or by children or individuals with limited
knowledge in using pressure cookers.
3. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
4. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufactur-
er may result in fire, electrical shock or injury to persons.
5. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
6. Do not use outdoors.
7. To protect against fire, electric shock and injury, do not immerse cords, plugs or
the appliance in water or any other liquid.
8. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions or is damaged in any manner.
9. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
10. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
11. Extreme caution must be used when moving a pressure cooker containing hot
liquids.
12. This appliance cooks under pressure. Always ensure there is a minimum of 1
measuring cup of liquid for the cooker to pressurize. Improper use may result in
scalding injuries. Make certain the unit is properly closed before operating.
13. For all pressure cooking settings, do not fill the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking
foods that expand during cooking such as grains, beans, and dried vegetables, do
not fill the unit over 1/2 full. Overfilling may cause a risk of clogging the pressure
release valve and developing excess pressure.
14. Be conscious that certain foods, such as applesauce, cranberries, pearl barley,
oatmeal and other cereals, split peas, noodles, macaroni, rhubarb, and spaghetti
can foam, froth, sputter, and clog the pressure release. These food items should
not be cooked in a pressure cooker.

15. Do not cover the appliance or pressure valves as an explosion may occur.
16. Do not use near flammable material including curtains and draperies when operating.
17. Always use in well ventilated areas .
18. Keep hands and face away from pressure regulating knob and steam when releasing
pressure.
19. Use extreme caution when removing the lid after cooking as serious burns can result
from steam releasing from pot.
20. Do not open the pressure cooker until the unit has cooled and all internal pressure
has been released. If the handles are difficult to push apart, this indicates that the
cooker is still pressurized – do not force it open. Any pressure in the cooker can be
hazardous.
21. Do not use with out inner pot inside the cooker.
22. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting
on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
WARNING: DO NOT DEEP FRY OR PRESSURE FRY IN THIS PRESSURE
COOKER. THIS MAY CAUSE FIRE OR OTHER SERIOUS DAMAGES.
CONSUMER ADVIOSRY
Perishable foods such as meat and poultry products, fish, cheese and other dairy products cannot be left at
room temperature for more than 2 hours (No longer than 1 hour if room temperature is above 90°F).
