Installation
Installing the navigation
system
! We recommend installing the system inside
the glove box or armrest.
! Install the navigation system in a level, fix-
able location.

Installation notes

! Do not install the navigation system in
places subject to high temperatures or hu-
midity, such as:
— Places close to a heater, vent or air con-
ditioner.
— Places exposed to direct sunlight, such
as on top of the dashboard.
— Places that may be exposed to rain,
such as close to the door or on the vehi-
cle's floor.
! Do not install the navigation system near
the driver's seat. Doing so may cause an
accident or injury should the detachable
device fall to the floor and become lodged
under the accelerator or brake pedal.
! When using screws, do not attach it to a
curved surface. Attaching the unit to a
curved surface may bend the base unit and
prevent attaching/detaching the detach-
able device.
! When installing the navigation system in-
side a glove compartment or similar loca-
tion, make sure the cables and wires do not
get pinched or interfere with the any open/
close mechanism or other moving parts.
Repeated pressure on the cables or wires
may cause the insulation to fail and cause
a short circuit.
! Do not install this navigation system where
the detachable device could interfere with
vehicle operation or bump other objects
when attaching or detaching the device.
Make sure to allow enough space for at-
taching/detaching the detachable device
to/from the base unit.
