You can assign a maximum of 30 radio modules/smoke detectors to a single radio group.
The alarm is relayed from one detector to another within this radio group, which means that it can
cover even extensive areas, for instance from the cellar via the ground floor to the top floor of a
building. You can program up to 8 independent radio groups, for instance to prevent them from
interfering with each other in apartment buildings. You can create up to 6 groups in connection with
the PROTECTOR Control Panel.
If the radio module/PROTECTOR KRF 9 V device that initially triggered the alarm stops generating
a signal, or if it is muted by briefly pressing the button on the radio module/device, all other radio
modules/smoke detectors will also automatically cancel the alarm after a maximum period of
approx. 30 seconds.
The following configuration options are available:
• Use as an input module for transmitting signals to the radio system. The alarm input can
receive devices such as CO, gas or water detectors or thermosensors which send an alarm
via radio signal to all the surrounding radio modules in the group.
• Use as an output module for receiving various signals from the radio system. If the
surrounding radio modules or PROTEKTOR KRF 9 V devices in the same group trigger the
alarm, the integrated switch relay will activate other devices such as horns, flashing lights or
the PROTECTOR Dialer, etc. Devices activated via 9 V DC electrostatic potential can also be
controlled via the 2-pin interface.
The 2-pin interface to the device can be set to one of the following functions using DIP switches:
Use as an input module:
• Input for floating make contact (Fig. 1)
• Input for floating break contact (Fig. 2)
• Input for PROTECTOR MCP (Fig. 3)
• Input for external voltage 6 - 24 V DC (Fig. 4)
Use as an output module:
• Output as 9 V – network terminal for a PROTECTOR K 9 V device (Fig. 5)
A NO/NC relay contact is also available as a floating output for alarm signals (Fig. 6) or fault
signals (Fig. 7).
