WORK CLOTHES
Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts.
Loose clothing, jewelry or long hair can be picked up by moving parts. Wear eye and ear protection, safety gloves
and long pants. Wearing safety equipment such as a dust mask, safety gloves, slip-resistant boots and helmet
will reduce the risk of personal injury.

WORK AREA SAFETY

Do not use this machine in explosive atmospheres, in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electrical
machines create sparks that can ignite dust or fumes.
When working on streets, roads or nearby areas, be careful not to endanger traffic.
The area within a 15-metre radius around the machine must be regarded as a danger zone which must not be
entered by anyone while the machine is running (safety zone). Keep out curious people, children or animals while
operating this machine. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Keep the work area clean and work only with sufficient lighting. Cluttered, dark areas can cause accidents.

FUEL SAFETY

Fuel and oil are highly flammable. If they become inflamed, extinguish the fire with a dry powder extinguisher.
Petrol and oil are dangerous, avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not inhale or ingest. If you swallow fuel and/or
oil, seek medical advice immediately. If it comes into contact with fuel or oil, clean with plenty of soap and water as
soon as possible. If you feel the irritated area afterwards, consult a doctor.
Do not refuel in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas. Fuel and oil vapors contain dangerous chemicals.
Do not smoke and do not bring flames, sparks or heat sources close to the machine. Do not smoke while transporting
fuel, filling the tank or while working.
Do not refuel in places where flames, sparks or intense heat sources are present.
Always turn off the engine before refuelling. Do not refuel with the engine running or hot.
If a fuel leak is found, do not start or run the engine until the leak has been repaired.
Make sure the fuel cap is properly closed after refuelling.
Never remove the fuel filler cap when the engine is running or when the machine is warm.
Always store fuel in approved containers. Do not use stored fuel for more than 2 months, it will make starting more
difficult and produce unsatisfactory engine performance.
MAINTENANCE, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE SAFETY
Carry out regular maintenance on the machine. We recommend that maintenance and repairs not described in
this manual be performed by an Official Service Facility.
Before adjusting or repairing the machine, stop the engine and remove the spark plug wire.
Always make motor adjustments with the unit supported on a flat, clear surface.
Keep cutting instruments sharp and clean. Replace cutting blades or other parts that are cracked, chipped or
damaged.
Check that moving parts are not misaligned or jammed, that there are no broken parts or other conditions that
could affect the operation of the machine. Whenever it is damaged, repair it before use.
Always clean the machine of dust and dirt after finishing work, do not use grease solvents. Always keep the
machine clean, especially the fuel tank, its surroundings and the air filter.
Keep the handles dry and clean. Dirty handles can cause a loss of control.
Turn off the engine to transport the machine and secure it properly to prevent fuel spillage.
When transporting or storing hedge trimmers, always attach the cover of the cutting device.
Store inactive tools out of the reach of children.
