7. INSTALLATION
For optimum operation, JetFan may be affi xed or suspended horizontally from the ceiling so that inlet and outlet are not obstruc-
ted. The Jetfan discharge plume extends many meters and this plume induces more air movement than the airfl ow through the
Jetfan, hence this discharge plume must NOT be obstructed by local pipes, cables, signage etc.
Typical location would be over roadway, walkway, is better than over parking space, to induce air movement from air inlet points
to air outlet / extraction points.
Consider, best location with regard to future access for service and maintenance. If location has been prescribed by specialist ven-
tilation analysis, and location is not suitable due to obstructions, then relocate within circa 1 meter radius is generally acceptable,
however, discharge direction must be maintained.
They may be affi xed with horizontal air discharge, direct to concrete ceiling or suspended by threaded steel rod, however, suitable
allowance must be made for car / vehicle movement under the Jetfan.
Anti-vibration mountings may not be necessary when a small JetFan is affi xed to a large concrete slab / structure.
Before connecting the unit to the electrical supply, ensure that the impeller turns freely and there is no debris inside the casing
and no obstructions to the airfl ow.
Before fi nalizing the installation ensure that there is no open access to any moving / rotating parts and check that the system
complies with all National and local Standards concerning the safety of rotating machines.
7.1. ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Before starting any installation or wiring of the JetFan ensure that the incoming electrical supply is isolated / disconnected.
Before making any electrical connection ensure that the Voltage and Frequency of the incoming electrical supply matches that of
the fan label (maximum permissible deviation of voltage or Frequency is +/- 5%)
All Jetfan models should be wired to the electrical supply in accordance with diagram provided in connection box.
Check that the fan earth connection is correctly wired to a suitable grounding point.
