1.
Lower exhaust by removing nuts on the exhaust hanger brackets (2) nuts from each bracket. Both sides. For additional clearance if needed for the drill or rotary
tool. Remover rubber isolator located at the forward exhaust connection. Spraying a lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and the rubber isolator
helps removal.
2.
Remove tape covering the access hole in frame rail. Both sides. Mark approx. 7/16" [ 11mm] off center of hole and open up access hole to allow for the spacer
(item 2) and carriage bolt. See Figure 2.
3.
Insert the spacer (item 2) and carriage bolt in to enlarged access hole using the reverse pull wire procedure. Both sides. See Figure 3. Leave pull wire attached.
4.
Reattach exhaust at the frame rails and rubber isolator if removed.
5.
Hang U-bolt on tie down hook.
6.
Raise hitch into position. Slide one side of hitch over exhaust pipe sliding it toward one side then raise the other side into position. Feed pull wire through slots
on hitch bracket to prevent fasteners from being pushed into frame rails. Rest the hitch carefully on the exhaust.
7.
Place the spacer (item 6) over the proper adjoining slots in the center bracket. Note; forward slots for Azera: rearward slots Cadenza.
8.
Install the 3/8" flat washer, lock washer and hex nuts onto the U-bolt. Hand tighten.
9.
Pull carriage bolt through the slots on the brackets, remove pull wires, and install conical washer and hex nut. Center hitch on the vehicle.
10. Torque all fasteners to specifications shown below.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent
entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a
vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and
