SWAN Back Pressure Regulator
Product Description
2.3.
80 l/h
A-96.250.179 / 030620
Function Principle
The BPR ensures a constant sample flow to the instruments even if
the sample inlet pressure has a high pressure fluctuation. Use the
SWAN back pressure regulator always in combination with an up-
stream needle valve.
Example for pressure and flow conditions at nominal
operating conditions
0.5 bar

B
A
Nominal inlet pressure P sample line
B
Needle valve for flow restriction.
C
Total flow with regulated pressure to 0.5 bar. (Pressure is ac-
tively regulated by BPR, excess flow is led through the bypass
to keep pressure within range).
D
Back pressure regulator (BPR)
E
Bypass flow 40 l /h
F
1 to 4 shut off valves
G
Sample flow to Instruments 20 l/h (combination of all instru-
ments on this sample line with flow regulating valves in fixed po-
sition corresponds to a fixed hydraulic resistance).
