Instructions for Use
EN
The system is a two piece collecting device for ostomates
or urostomates with:
• A base plate with a skin protector and soft flange, also
available* with soft convexity.
• Different types of collecting pouches* :
- Closed,
- Drainable with integrated outlet, Roll'Up or with cap,
or Maxi Drainable.
- For urostomy, with a drain tap.
The unique feature of the system is an integrated guiding
system that allows easy positioning of the adhesive pouch
onto the flexible base plate.
1
Before application
•
Separate the cardboard from the base plate.
•
If you are using a cut-to-fit pouch, cut the skin protector
so it fits around your stoma, taking good care not to cut
beyond the limit. Leave a 2 to 3 mm gap around your
stoma: it should not be "occluded" by the skin protector (A).
2
Skin preparation
•
Wash your hands.
•
Clean the skin around your stoma with tepid water. Ether,
alcohol and other antiseptics may prevent the base plate
from staying in place, and should therefore be avoided
•
Dab the skin carefully with soft tissues.
Application of the base plate
3
•
Remove the clear release from the base plate.
•
Place the base plate over your stoma, slot of the guiding
system toward the bottom.
•
Make the skin protector adhere correctly by pressing
1
gently onto the skin under the flange, avoiding forming
folds (B).
•
If you use a belt with the convex base plate, choose two
notches that are diametrically opposed (C, D).
4
Application of the pouch
•
Separate the pouch walls by crumpling it slightly to
introduce air into it.
•
Remove the release paper that protects the adhesive
of the pouch (E).
•
Insert the tab of the pouch into the slot of the base plate
(F) and (G). Avoid placing your fingers on the adhesive.
•
Adjust and make the pouch adhere onto the base plate
without making folds (H).
•
Apply the adhesive carefully by exerting a pressure onto
the stuck area (I).
•
Make sure the pouch is well secured by pulling on it
slightly.
Tips :
•
Visual control for good positioning of the pouch : The
white tab of the pouch must be seen in the opening of
the base plate (see H).
•
The rim of the track must remain visible all around the
pouch adhesive.
•
If it is necessary to give the pouch a different orientation,
stick the pouch onto the base plate with caution, without
using the guiding system.
5
Removal of the pouch
•
Maintain the base plate by the prehension tab and
unstick the pouch progressively with the other hand by
pulling on the tab of the pouch (J).
•
For Urostomy pouch*, unstick the pouch either with
