INSTALLATION
1. Remove the gas burner packaging materials with care. You will find a label on the rear side of the
burner base describing the type of fuel to be used. Depending on the burner reference number, fuel
options are as follows: Butane gas (R-050000/30) or natural gas (R-050020/50). Make sure that the
burner fuel coincides with your mains supply.
2. Position the burner on a flat, solid surface in the laboratory, well away from inflammable materials.
3. Check the gas mains. Make sure that all the necessary inspections have been performed by licensed
technicians.
4. Use a standard rubber gas tube to connect the burner to the gas input nozzle (A) and standard metallic
clasps to secure this component firmly. Make sure that all clasps are completely tight.
HOW TO USE THE BURNER
1. If you need to work with the burner, place the wax tray (E) on the burner's flame nozzle.
2. Rotate the airflow adjustment valve (C) until the circular window is completely open. Adjust by
turning the knurled cylinder on its axis.
3. Open the gas mains stopcock. Apply a ¼ turn to the burner's shutoff cock (E) until it is parallel to the
central axis of the burner.
4. Bring up a flame to the nozzle (D). The burner should light up immediately without any problem.
5. Use regulator (C) to adjust the airflow. By opening the regulator completely you will obtain a flame
with a blue base and a bright yellow tip, with a constant length and brightness. A flame of this kind
means that combustion is perfect and that the gas supply is optimum. When regulator (C) is used to
shut off the airflow, the blue color eventually becomes reddish, meaning that combustion is lacking
oxygen. Under extreme circumstances, and when the airflow is too low, black (unburned) smoke may
appear. This situation should always be avoided, since the resulting gases are extremely
dangerous.
6. Close the gas airflow stopcock (B) by applying a ¼ turn until it is perpendicular to the burner's axis.
Close the gas mains stopcock.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
1. Clean the burner externally on a regular basis. First make sure that the gas mains stopcock has been
shut off completely. Use a cloth soaked in soapy water to clean the unit. Never use alcohol or
inflammable products.
2. Gas facilities must be inspected regularly by licensed technicians.
3. During normal operation, molten wax may accidentally fall through the orifice in the flame nozzle
(D). Wax accumulating inside the nozzle elbow may cause obstructions and impair burner
performance. Should this occur, proceed to remove the wax as follows:
Close the mains stopcock.
●
Release the metallic clasp on the connection nozzle (A). Disengage the burner from the rubber
●
mains connection tube.
Once the burner has been disengaged from the mains, apply a ¼ anticlockwise turn to the flame
●
nozzle (D).
