Switching the gear setting
(figure 17).
With the gear switch, you can select the
speed and thus the torque.
Adjust the gear setting only when the
machine is at a complete stop or when the
motor is running down.
There is a gear switch each on the right and
left side of the machine.
To switch over, turn the switches 90° out of
the recess. In this position, move the switches
to the stop. Then, turn the switches back into
the recess.
1st gear: Turn both switches so that they
point away from the dots. This gear is suitable
for working at low speed and high torque.
This setting is suitable for drilling or core drill-
ing with large diameters, for tapping and
reaming.
2nd gear: Turn the left switch so that it points
toward the dot and the right switch so that it
points away from the two dots.
3rd gear: Turn the left switch so that it points
away from the dot and the right switch so that
it points toward the two dots.
4th gear: Turn both switches so that they
point toward the dots.This gear is suitable for
working at high speed and low torque. Thus,
the gear is suitable for small drill diameters.
In all gears, the speed can be switched to
"low" or "high".
