3.3. Safety Recommendations - Equipment
• Disconnect the machine from the battery before any intervention.
• Select the correct power tool taking into account the type of use and power required.
• Do not change or make adjustments that change the original configuration of the
power tool or drills or accessories.
• Only use recommended and quality accessories (see page 66).
• Check if the accessories are in good condition, without defects.
• Check the general condition of the battery. Look for cracks, clearances, loose parts
inside, among others. If liquid is spilled from the inside of the structure, insulate the
battery to avoid contact with skin or local contamination and refer to PECOL Technical
Assistance Service.
• The battery's electrolytic liquid is highly alkaline and corrosive. In case of contact
with the skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice
at the earliest opportunity. If the battery emits vapours, remove from the environment
immediately, ventilate the area and seek immediate medical attention.
• In case of battery, charger or power tool fire, use only chemical or CO2 extinguisher.
• Inspect the cables of extensions, charger and plugs for cracks, dry parts, insulation,
and keep them clean and free of oils and greases, which can deteriorate the insulation.
• Only use certified cables and plugs with EC marking and with supported power (in
watts) greater than the sum of all equipment connected to it.
• Never pull the plug or hold the charger by the cable.
• If the drill bit is stuck in a part due to a drilling operation that has been interrupted,
it must be removed by turning the machine on in the reversing mode and with a gentle
actuation of the switch. Do not attempt to continue drilling with the drill bit attached.
• Do not rest the machine until it has immobilised its movement.
• When removing the installed tool after long work, it may be hot. Avoid direct contact
with skin.
3.4. Check List: 7 steps before starting
1. Be aware of the safety recommendations in the manual.
2. Check if the drill or other attachment installed on the mandrel is securely fastened,
sharpened and undamaged.
3. If the environment is cold, switch on the power tool for a time that is sufficient for the
parts and lubrication to heat up to their optimum performance temperature.
4. Check the general condition of the battery. Look for cracks, clearances, loose parts
inside, among others. If liquid is spilled from the inside, immediately disconnect it and
see page 65 and 66.
5. The ambient temperature for use should be between 5°C and 40°C to avoid
damaging the battery.
