FITTING AND
REMOVING THE HMS
Note:
The HMS can only be
fitted or removed when
the conveyor release le-
ver control is pushed in.

Your HMS should be installed by your local Watkiss
engineer. However you may wish to remove the unit, for
example when clearing paper jams.
Removing the HMS
Unplug the HMS interface cable. Lift the HMS up and
away from the collator.
Interface Cable
Fitting the HMS
Hold the conveyor release lever control in its inner position
whilst positioning the lower mounting slots onto the lower
mounting posts. Ensure that the conveyor release levers
fit underneath the lower conveyor shaft. Also ensure that
the left lever is not inserted between the bin side plate
and the rear deflector lever.
Raise the unit to engage the top mounting posts. To use
the HMS, ensure that the trigger fingers are positioned
below the conveyor shaft as you raise the unit.
Visually check that the mounting slots have located firmly
on the lower mounting posts. Reposition if necessary.
Failure to do so may result in damage to the centre
conveyor wheel.
Connect the Hand Merge Interface Cable.
