Safety Notes

• This locomotive is to be used only with an operating system designed for it (DC
power = 18V±, Märklin AC, Märklin Digital,
Märklin Systems).
• Use only switched mode power supply units and transformers that are designed for
your local power system.
• The feeder track must be equipped to prevent interference with radio and tele-
vision reception, when the locomotive is to be run in conventional operation. The
104770 interference suppression set is to be used for this purpose.
• The wire used for feeder connections to the track may only be a maximum of 2
meters / 78 inches long.
• WARNING! Sharp edges and points required for operation.
• The LEDs in this item correspond to Laser Class 1 according to Standard EN 60825-1.

Important Notes

• Due to the high power requirements for this heavy locomotive, there are only limited
possibilities for operation with the 60652/60653 Mobile Station.
• The operating instructions are a component part of the product and must therefore be
kept as well as transferred along with the product to others.
• Please see your authorized Märklin dealer for repairs or spare parts.
• The warranty card included with this product specifies the warranty conditions.
• Disposing: www.maerklin.com/en/imprint.html
As delivered, the locomotives are prototypically equipped for a display case. For
running, the wheel housings above the pilot wheels must be removed first.
The exclusive and extremely high quality LGB models from the 29000 LGB set have
prompted the desire among 1 Gauge fans to be able to use this unique pair of locomo-
tives on 1 Gauge track also. The models in the 55007 Märklin set have appropriately
modified wheel flanges to allow this when the following key points are observed:
1. The minimum radius for operation for these locomotives is 1,020 mm / 40-3/16".
2. Since the rail clearance devices can hang up, the following parts may not be used
(damage to paint or parts!):
- Hand lever for 5965, 5966, 5976, and 5977 turnouts
- 59097 and 59098 switch stands
- 59089 double slip switch lantern

- 5994 uncoupler module
- 5602 track bumper
3. Signal and catenary masts must be mounted at least 32 mm / 1-1/4" from the
outer edge of the ties.
4. Due to the varying locomotive/car heights and widths, only tunnel portals with a
minimum height clearance of 165 mm / 6-1/2" from the upper rail edge and a
minimum width clearance of 110 mm / 4-5/16" can be used.
5. Operation on other makes of 1 Gauge track systems is done at your own risk.

Functions

• Setting locomotive parameters (address, acceleration/braking delay, maximum speed,
etc.): with the Control Unit and DCC (CV programming), Mobile Station, or the
Central Station.
• The model is designed for operation on Märklin 1 Gauge track. As the consumer you
assume the risk for operating on other makes of track.
• Only the train control functions and headlight changeover feature are available in
