charging status will only be shown when the battery charger is
disconnected.

1.5 Battery level indicator

The battery level indicator is displayed on the bottom right; it
appears as a battery with three notches inside it – these indicate the
level of energy left. When the battery level reaches minimum and
TRIBE is on, the unit will give out two Beeps and switch itself off.
TRIBE measures battery charging on 4 levels:
3 notches – battery fully charged
2 notches – battery half charged
1 notch – battery at low level. At this level, TRIBE gives an
acoustic signal approximately every 10 seconds
0 notches – battery at a very low level; when TRIBE reaches
the minimum level it emits two tones and switches off.
It takes about three hours for the battery to recharge completely.

2.0 Using the transceiver

The maximum distance at which TRIBE devices can be used depends
on environmental conditions and on the land. It can reach up to
12Km in wide open spaces, without obstructions, such as hills,
buildings, trees, etc.

2.1 Turning the unit on and off

Power ON
Press the MENU key and keep it pressed until the display switches
on and briefly displays ON.
Note: the back lighting of the display turns off automatically after
about ten seconds to save energy but the display is always active.
Power OFF
Press the MENU key and keep it pressed until OF (equivalent to OFF)
is shown briefly on the display and then turns off.
2.2 Pairing between TRIBE and the Bluetooth® headset
Before TRIBE can be used with any Bluetooth® headset (helmet or
otherwise), a pairing procedure has to be carried out between the
two devices so they recognise each other and can communicate.
