find the final position. Before starting treatment, make sure that the respec-
tive attachment is engaged in the intended final position. Prior to first use,
please pay attention to the contraindications listed in Chapter 8 as well as
the information in Chapter 6. Note that vibration therapy primarily alleviates
symptoms but does not cure the underlying condition. The use of physio at-
tachments is no substitute for medical consultation.
Note: The attachments can be used directly on the skin or through fabric/
clothing. There is no need for gel or similar.

6. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

· Depending on personal sensitivity, the vibration can be perceived with differ-
ent intensity.Treat particularly sensitive spots at the lowest intensity level,
through clothing or a fine cloth.
· Treat a maximum of 20 minutes per unit, then let the NOVAFON sound wave
device cool down for 15 minutes.
· In case of discomfort, dizziness, or an increase in the symptoms, stop the
treatment.
· Keep attachments out of reach of children.
· Do not use the attachments on mucous membranes and open wounds.
· Do not use for treating pains or swellings of unknown origin. In that case
consult a medical professional for clarification and diagnosis.
· Avoid impacts! These can damage the products and hence lead to a risk of
injury.
· Before using the attachments, please also observe all information from the
operating instructions of your NOVAFON sound wave device.

7. CLEANING AND DISINFECTION

For professional and clinical use, NOVAFON attachments must be disin-
fected with a surface disinfectant for medical devices before and after each
application. As a general rule, NOVAFON recommends alcohol-free disin-
fectants that are suitable for use on sensitive surfaces, such as SinAlc sen-
sitive by HIMED or RHEOSEPT-WD plus wipes by Rheosol. If necessary, wipe
it dry with a soft cloth. In case of dirt or if otherwise necessary, clean the
attachments with a brush and a neutral cleaner under running water before
disinfecting. For domestic, non-clinical use, clean the attachments with a
damp cloth, under running water or in a mild soapy solution.
8. CONTRAINDICATIONS / SIDE EFFECTS
Treatments with the NOVAFON sound wave devices are not permitted for
patients with:
· Open wounds / eczema (in the body region to be treated)
· Arteriosclerosis (in the body region being treated)
· Current episodes of epilepsy
