4. Make sure that all connections to the filter/regulator are tight and secure.
5. Mount the bowl to the filter/regulator body by turning fully clockwise before
pressurizing. Tight hand-tight.
6. Install a pressure gauge to either of the gauge ports facing the operator. The other
gauge port should be plugged or can be used as an additional air outlet for regulated
air.
7. The filter/regulator must be installed in such a way that no mechanical force or tension
occurs.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (See Figure 2)
1. Ensure that the pressure to the air inlet of the filter/regulator from air line does not
exceed the maximum pressure specified in the instructions.
2. Before applying inlet pressure, pull the knob upwards until you hear the click, turn it
counterclockwise to release all force on the regulating spring. Then push the knob
downwards until you hear the click.
3. Air inlet pressure can be approached by turning the knob. Pull the knob upwards
until you hear the click, turn it clockwise to increase the pressure or counterclockwise
to decrease the pressure. When the desired pressure is obtained, pull the knob
downwards until you hear the click to secure the knob.
4. The set air pressure can be read on the pressure gauge.
5. Always approach the desired pressure gradually, either from a lower pressure to a
higher pressure, or from a higher pressure to a lower pressure.
6. The filter/regulator is equipped with a manual drain. Depress the drain valve to drain
accumulated liquids inside the bowl. Take care to drain the liquids from the bowl
whenever necessary and always keep the liquids below the element.
7. The filter element should be replaced when the pressure drop across the element
exceeds 15 psi. When an excessive pressure drop across a saturated but
uncontaminated element occurs, it may indicate that the tool being operated exceeds
the maximum flow rate (CFM) of the filter (See Specifications). Refer to the
maximum flow rate of your filter/regulator and make sure that the required CFM of the
tool is within the maximum flow rate of your filter/regulator for best tool operation.

MAINTENANCE
Maintenance Steps
1
disassembly (See figure 2)
• Filter/regulator can be disassembled without removal from air line.
• Shut OFF inlet pressure. Reduce pressure in inlet and outlet lines to zero.
• Turn adjustment fully counterclockwise.
• Remove bowl by turning counterclockwise.
• Disassemble in general accordance with the parts illustrated in Figure 2. Do not
remove the drain unless replacement is necessary. Remove and replace only if
drain malfunctions or converting to automatic drain.
2
cleaning(See figure 2)
• Clean polycarbonate bowl with warm water only. Clean other parts with warm
water and soap.
• Rinse and dry parts. Blow out internal passages in body with clean, dry,
compressed air. Blow air through filter element from inside to outside to remove
surface contaminants.
• Inspect parts. Replace those found to be damaged. Replace plastic bowl with a
metal bowl if plastic bowl shows signs ofcracking or cloudiness.
3
assembly (See figure 2)
• Lubricate o-rings and the lip of the auto drain valve with o-ring grease.
• Assemble filter as shown on Figure 2.
• Diaphragm valve pin must slide freely thru the valve seat after seat is torqued
into body.
