The fall arrest line certified according to EN-353-2:2002 and according to
PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425.
The main purpose of the line is to be an intermediary to a person in a fullbody
harness and anchorage point. The line has also the task of absorbing the
energy that may arise in a free fall. The line can also be used to limit the
user's work area so that the risk of a free fall can not occur. Suitable for use
in vertical position in conjunction with a ladder. Or when working on a sloping
roof. If the user is using the line in suspension, another absorbent system
is recommended. See EN 363. The part of the line with absorber and the
carabiner is attached to the connection points marked with an A or A2 on the
chest or back. See the harness user manual. The other end of the line with
carabiner is connected to the anchoring point.
Warning! Work in a fall protection environment requires that the user is fully
fit (ref EN-365), has completed training in the use of the equipment and is
aware of the risks that can arise. Prior to starting to work in fall risk
environment, plans shall be made for how to evacuate a person who has
fallen or been injured and/or possibly been left hanging in the harness. If you
are unsure, contact your dealer or the manufacturer for further information.
Before each use: Prior to using the product for the first time, ensure that
the energy absorber is fit for purpose and that sufficient fall clearance exists
between the anchor point and the ground.
Before each use: Carry out a careful visual check of the material and
function and ensure that the equipment works. Be careful in relation to tape
breaches, broken seams/stitching, cut damage, discoloration, damaged
D-rings and buckles, and the function of eyelets and wraps.
Warning! The product is only for Personal Protection Equipment use. All
other usage is forbidden. If possible, each user shall have their own personal
harness (ref EN-365). It is important that the user visually checks their
equipment prior to use (self-check).
Warning! For connection to a system in accordance with EN-363:2008 the
user shall be fully conversant with all the functions of the component parts
and their use. In case of doubt contact your dealer or the manufacturer.
Warning! If any fault in the equipment is detected which may impact on the
safety of its use, the product must be replaced immediately. In case of doubt
contact your dealer or the manufacturer for inspection.
Warning! If the equipment has been subjected to a fall the product shall
immediately be discarded and replaced or inspected by competent person.
Warning! For connection to a fall protection system the anchorage point
shall be of an approved type in accordance with EN-795 or the equivalent
tested for this purpose, and cope with a static loading of the suitable stan-
dards. As far as possible the anchorage point shall be directly above the user.
The work shall be carried out in such a manner that the fall distance and
fall risk are minimized. Avoid lateral movements that can cause a pendulum
where a person would swing into an object or a wall causing injuries.
The fall arrest line is CE tested with a weight of 140 Kg. At the dynamic CE
test, the force was at most 4.7 kN and the catch length a total of 1.5 meters.
The absorber's development was 32 cm. The line should be used in the
strained position as much as possible. Maximum user weight should not
exceed 140 Kg. CE test with 100 Kg the catch length a total of 1,5 meter and
5,4 kN. The absorber development was 17 cm.
Warning! Make sure that there is sufficient free space below the workplace;
in certain cases, the distance can to be up to 6 meters below the user if the
absorber is fully activated. Calculate the fall clearance bearing in-mind:
The height of the user;
The position of the anchorage points;
The lanyard length (rope/wire/webbing);
Different lanyards may have different energy absorber lengths.
Warning! When carrying out work with a harness the greatest possible care
shall be observed when hanging freely in the system. If the user were to
fall unconscious in a suspended position it is vital to get him/her down to the
ground as fast as possible. Rescue equipment and knowledge is
consequently very important.
Warning! That no-one works alone where there is a risk of falling. Ensure
that you are feeling alert and fit for work, have drunk sufficiently and that you
