Installation
Assembly
Prerequisite
Chassis approved by AL-KO.
Dimension between inside of tyre and frame: at least 125 mm.
Installation area free from lines, cables and ventilation pipes.
Installation ahead of and behind the axle possible.
Working steps
The working steps for this installation must be carried out on each side, in mirror-image procedures.
ADVICE
Exception: points 15 and 16.
The illustrations refer to the picture pages at the start of the booklet, and are examples.
1. Bring your caravan to a convenient working height and secure it.
2. Insert the matching lock bolts into the guide section (1-a).
3. Screw the left drive onto the guide section (1-b).
Tightening torque: 86 Nm
4. Carry out points 2 and 3 for the right drive, in a mirror-image procedure (1-c).
5. Insert the lock bolt M8x35 from below into the lug of the clamp bottom part (2) that has been put on.
6. Position the clamp bottom part on the frame (3 -a).
7. Place the lug of the clamp top part into the opening in the positioned bottom part (3 -b) and fold the top
and bottom parts together.
8. Place the washer and nut M8 on the lock bolt and tighten the nut slightly (4).
9. Push the frame clamp into the correct position and tighten the nut until finger-tight.
Tyre running surface - middle clamp: 285 mm (5).
10.Connect the pipe clamp from below to the frame clamp (6-a) with the Allen screws M12x65 and
M12x40.
11.Put on the washers and nuts from above and tighten the nuts slightly (6).
Leave the pipe clamp hanging.
12.Insert the cross member part into the pipe clamp (7-a) with the installed drive.
13.Guide the connection strut from inside into the inserted cross member part (7-b).
Insert the connecting piece directly into the cross member part when installing the opposite drive.
14.Move the cross member parts far enough towards the frame (8 -a) so the drive housing cannot contact
the wheel (8 -b).
15.Align the connection strut centrally (9-a).
16.Connect the cross member outside parts and connection strut using bolts M12x30.
The overlap with the cross member connection should be equal on both sides!
17.Guide the cable from the Mammut drive through the frame at a suitable point.
