Biometric Security Safe Owner's Manual
Thank you for choosing Master Lock/SentrySafe to store all your important documents and valuables.
We hope that this product will help you stay organized and provide you with the peace-of-mind of knowing the things most important to you are protected.
Important security note: Biometric safe models will initially open with ANY fingerprint, therefore it is important to re-program the safe with your fingerprints to provide
maximum security. Fingerprint memory has a maximum capacity of 30 fingerprint registrations.
Opening the safe for the first
time and using the override key:
To open the safe the first time or open without scanning a finger, the
override key can be used.
1
Remove the magnetic security cover
on the right side of the control panel.
2
Insert the override key
(the notch on the key handle must
be facing up) and turn counterclockwise.
3
Rotating the key will retract the bolts and open the safe.
4
Turn the key clockwise to remove the key.
5
Replace the magnetic security cover.
6
Do not store the override keys in the safe.

Installing batteries:

1
Open the safe door and locate the battery case on the back of
the safe door.
2
Slide the battery cover towards the bolts to open the battery
compartment.
3
Install 4 new alkaline AA batteries and replace the battery cover.
For all safe models, we recommend the following:
• Refrain from using rechargeable or Non-Alkaline batteries.
• Use quality name brand batteries.
• All batteries have expiration dates on them. Ensure those dates are as
close to 10 years out from current year as possible.
• When changing batteries do not mix battery brands.
• When replacing batteries, do not mix old batteries with new batteries.
Replace all batteries at the same time.
Registering your fingerprint:
Important note - We highly recommend you add the same
fingerprint multiple times and adjust your finger's angle and
location between each registration to ensure the safe opens
on the first attempt. As an example, during a single registration (3
scans), register the center of your fingerprint – try to use the exact
same finger location all three times. Then repeat the registration
process with the same finger, using the top of your fingerprint, again
trying to use the exact same finger location. Then repeat using the base
of your fingerprint, the sides of your fingerprint and so on.
2
Registering your fingerprint
continued:
1
When the door is open, press the red button on the back of the
door (near the hinge) for one second and release.
2
When you see the orange light on the control panel, hold your
finger on the sensor and wait until the orange light turns off.
The safe will be silent during this step.
3
Remove your finger from the sensor.
4
Repeat steps 2 and 3 two additional times using the same
finger. Try to use the exact same finger location and angle. If
registration was successful a green light will flash and the safe
will beep twice.
If the registration process failed, a red light will flash and the
safe will beep three times. You will need to re-start at step 1 to
register your fingerprint.
Additional Notes: If the fingerprint memory is full, a red light
will flash and the safe will beep five times.
Opening the door:
Place your finger onto the biometric sensor and wait until the
green light turns on. The safe will beep twice and the door will
open automatically. If the safe does not recognize the fingerprint
(not registered or accepted), a red light will flash and the safe will
beep three times. The safe will remain locked. If batteries need
replacement, after a successful opening, a red light will flash and the
safe will beep three times.

Closing the door:

Hold the door completely closed and press the black button on the
left side of the control panel. The bolts will automatically engage and
lock the safe. If the door is not completely closed the bolts will stop,
the safe will beep 3 times and the safe will automatically re-open.
You will need to scan your finger again to reset the bolts and repeat
the closing process. The lock button will not work to move the bolts
during this event but returns to normal function after a successful
scan.
To delete all fingerprint
registrations and return to
factory default setting:
1
Open the safe and remove the batteries.
2
Press and release the green button.
3
Press and hold the green button while re-installing the batteries.
4
Continue holding the green button for approximately five
seconds (from step 3 to step 4, do not release the button) until
the safe beeps twice.
5
ALL the fingerprint registrations have been deleted, the
fingerprint memory is empty and the safe is set back to the
factory default setting. Any fingerprint can now open the door.
Additional Notes: A single fingerprint cannot be deleted. If you
need to delete a user, all the fingerprints will need to be deleted
and users will need to re-register.
To open the safe with the
battery jump kit:
If battery power in the safe is running low and cannot operate the
safe, or if the override key is misplaced, you can use the USB battery
jump kit (the battery case with the attached power cord) to open
the safe.
Important: This should not be used as a primary means to open
the safe.
1
Install 4 new AA alkaline batteries in the battery case of the
jump kit.
2
Remove the magnetic security cover on the right side of the safe
control panel.
3
Insert the Micro USB cord into the USB slot of the safe.
4
Scan a registered fingerprint and the safe will operate normally.
5
Remove the Micro USB cord and replace the security cover on
the control panel.
6
Install 4 new AA alkaline batteries in the safe.

Bolt-Down Instructions:

To help provide maximum security, it is highly recommended that you
bolt down your safe.
1
Set the safe in the place you intend to bolt it down and open the
door.
2
Using a pencil mark the floor or wall through the holes provided
in the bottom or back of your safe.
3

and depth for the type of hardware being used.
4
