HELPFUL TIPS
NEVER leave the appliance unattended while operating.
•
DO NOT touch hot surfaces. ALWAYS wear oven mitts
when operating this unit to prevent burns.
•
Only use heat-resistant, non-metal utensils when operating this unit. Metal
utensils could scratch or damage the nonstick coking griddle.
•
Please note that during the first few uses, the unit may smoke slightly
and emit a slight odor. This is normal with most new appliances that
have nonstick coating. It will go away after further use.
Cooking Tips
•
For healthier waffles, subsitute whole grain flour for white flour.
•
To keep waffles crisp when reheating, always reheat in an oven instead of a
microwave. Preheat oven to 200˚ F and bake on a baking sheet or wire rack.
•
DO NOT overmix batter. Batter should be slightly lumpy so
that waffles will be light and fluffy when cooked.
•
You can store batter in a tightly-sealed container and refrigerate. Refrigerated
batter will remain fresh for up to two days. Because cold batter will thicken,
you may need to add a little milk or water to the batter before cooking.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Please take care of your RETRO SERIES™ FLIP WAFFLE MAKER by
following these simple instructions. Cleaning is a snap.
•
Make sure temperature is turned all the way down to MIN,
then unplug appliance cord from the outlet.
•
Make sure the appliance is cool before removing the Drip Tray.
•
Empty the Drip Tray.
•
Clean Drip Tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
•
Wipe the Nonstick Cooking Griddle and Stand with a damp, non-abrasive cloth and dry.
•
To prolong the life of the coating on the Nonstick Cooking Surface, never stack objects
other than food on the waffle maker and never use metal utensils to remove waffles.
•
Never put the appliance in a dishwasher.
It is that simple. Remember to lightly coat the Nonstick Griddle with
vegetable oil prior to cooking to preserve the nonstick finish.
