Listening to the Radio

1. Turn the function selector switch (17) to the RADIO position.
2. Use the band selector switch (7) to select the desired
frequency band.
VHF (Stereo) = FM ST., VHF = FM,
Medium wave = AM (Mono)
3. Tune in the desired station with the station adjustment knob
TUNING (6).
4. The FM.ST control lamp (24) only lights up when you have
selected FM stereo and the station is being received in
stereo quality. If reception is too weak and there is noise
on the station being received, this lamp will flicker. Where
reception is bad we recommend switching to FM.
5. For VHF/FM mode pull out the telescopic antenna (1) and
turn it to improve reception.
6. An aerial is integrated into the device for the reception of
AM stations. The machine can be aligned to the station by
turning it. In this frequency band programs are transmitted in
„mono" only.
Cassette Operation
Playing Cassettes
1. Turn the function selector switch (17) to the OFF/TAPE posi-
tion.
2. Press the   STOP/EJ. stop/eject button (14) to open the
cassette compartment (29).
3. Insert a recorded audiocassette into the compartment with
the tape opening facing upwards and the side you wish to
listen to facing the front (full spool to the right). Then close
the cassette compartment again.
4. Press the  PLAY playback key (11) to listen to the tape.
5. With the   STOP/EJ. stop/eject key you can stop play-
back.
6. Wind the tape forwards or backwards if necessary in the
direction of the arrow keys
 F.FWD = forwards (13),  RWD = reverse (12).
7. Always press the   STOP/EJ. stop/eject key when
changing the direction or stopping the tape. This prevents
damage to the machine and the tape.
8. If the   STOP/EJ. stop/eject button is pressed again the
flap of the cassette compartment opens.
9. In order to interrupt playback briefly, press the II PAUSE
pause button (15). Pressing again continues playback.
Recording Cassettes
1. Insert an audiocassette with the side on which you wish to
record facing forwards (full reel on the right). Ensure that
the cassette is not copy-protected (the copy protection tab
on the top narrow side of the cassette must not have been
removed).
2. Select the source from which you wish to record with the
function switch (17) and then start playback from this source
if necessary. The sound source which you are listening to
is the one from which the recording is made. The recording
level is controlled automatically. Changing the volume does
not change the recording.

3. Please press the  REC record button (10) (the  PLAY
playback button is automatically pressed down at the same
time). Recording now begins. All previous recordings are
automatically erased.
4. The recording can be interrupted briefly using the
II PAUSE pause key, or stopped by means of the
  STOP/EJ. stop/eject button.

Playing CDs/MP3

This is how you play a CD
1. Turn the function selector switch (17) to the „CD/MP3" posi-
tion.
2. Open the CD compartment (5) by pulling the lid upwards by
the tab (9).
3. Insert an audio CD with the printed side facing upwards on
to the central cone so that the CD clicks into place and then
close the lid of the CD compartment.
4. After a few seconds the total number of songs/tracks is
shown in the display.
5. The CD will play from the first title. The track currently being
played,  or  MP3 are shown in the display.
6. In order to remove a CD, please press the  key (26), open
the CD compartment and lift the CD out carefully.
Always keep the CD deck closed.
NOTE:
In the case of CDs in MP3 format that contain folders,
when the device changes to a different folder 001 appears
for the first track of the new folder.
If a disc is incorrectly inserted - or no disc has been
inserted - the symbol „- - -" and the word „no" appear in
the display.
Playback of CDs produced by the user cannot be guaran-
teed due to the large variety of software and CD media
available.
Description of the CD buttons
II (25)
You can briefly interrupt and resume playback using this button.
The symbol  flashes in the display. Pressing again continues
playback.
I / I (21/20)
With an audio CD or a CD in MP3 format playing:
With I you can jump to the next or previous track etc.
If the button is kept pressed down, the machine starts to
search through the tracks.
If the button is kept pressed down in stop mode the machine
quickly plays through the songs until the desired track is
reached. When the II button is pressed the track begins to
play back.
