10 – Maintenance and
environmental
protection
ATTENTION! Before carrying out
any maintenance work on the
tool, switch it off and unplug it from
the mains!
Sharpening the tools
Insertable tools with cutting edges
should always be reground to ensure
good results. For this the tool should
be clamped in the appliance and the
ground side fed to the grinding medium.
Grinding machine (Fig. 8)
Use a corundum disk and grind wet.
Avoid blue discoloration of the grinding
surface, as otherwise the tool hardness
will be impaired. Note the direction of
rotation!
Sanding machine (Fig. 9)
Use only appliances which are to be
stationarily operated. Clamp grinding
disk with fine granulation (80 to 120).
Note direction of band run!
Cleaning
• Clean the machine case only with a
damp cloth – do not use solvents!
Then dry thoroughly.
• Always keep the ventilation slots on
the machine clean.
• Remove adhesive residues and dirt
from the insertable tools.
CAUTION! Electrical and battery
operated units that no longer work
should not be disposed of in the
household waste! They are to be
collected separately, in
accordance with the
2002/96 EC directive for
the disposal of electrical
and electronic waste, and
sent for proper and
environmentally-friendly
recycling.
Please discard power tools no longer
usable at a local collection point.

materials separately by types complying
with local rules and regulations. For

authority concerned.

In this way you will always have all the

extent maintenancefree, a damp cloth
being sufficient to clean the casing.
Do not drop electrical machines in
water. Please note additional hints
