Getting Started

Congratulations on your purchase of Original
Schmidt Live. This instrument has been manufac-
tured to the highest Swiss quality standards.
Step 1 Prepare hammer
Live and Print versions
Open the battery lid and insert the rechargeable
AAA battery. Charge the battery first with the sup-
plied micro USB-cable on any USB-connector. A
full charge takes around 7.5 hours. Alternatively,
standard AAA batteries can also be used. Turn the
hammer on by pressing either one of the two but-
tons below the display on the hammer. Now you can
start creating measurements, and the hammer is
ready to be connected to the iOS device or Blue-
tooth printer.

Step 2 Install the app
Live version only
Install the Schmidt app from the App
Store on your compatible iOS device.
Create your account in the app or on
live.proceq.com.
Step 3 Connect and measure
Live version

Select your hammer via the "Hammer" tile in the
Schmidt app and choose "connect." Now you can

use the full functionality provided by the app. If you
are unable to connect, please make sure "Live" is
selected in the hammer settings.
Print version
After switching the printer on, it will automatically
connect to your hammer. Now you can print out
measurements as desired.
Live and Print versions
For detailed instructions on set-up, measuring and
handling, watch the tutorial videos by tapping on the
"Tutorials" tile on the app home screen (Live version
only) or check out the Proceq YouTube channel.
Step 4 Verification
Live and Print versions
It is highly recommended to verify the probe on a
calibrated Proceq anvil. For the Live version, you
can do this by using the verification feature in the app.
Live sync
Measurement data can be viewed, edited and
exported in the Schmidt app and accessed online via
live.proceq.com.

Firmware Update

Please check in the App Store for updates of the
Schmidt app, or activate automatic updates in the
iOS settings. The app will inform you about probe
firmware updates. Download the PQUpgrade tool
from the Proceq website to perform the update.
