In the upper palatal plate, the palatal cusps must be mount-
ed so that the tooth rows cannot be displaced under pres-
sure. The buccal cusps must remain free for later coding in
the mouth. The palatal plate must be recessed basally at the
threaded sleeve so that the height of the registration tip
can be adjusted.
4. The mandible and maxilla templates prepared as described
in the processing instructions are checked to ensure they
fit properly. The patient must sit upright and keep his/her
straight for bite registration.

5. The support pin of the maxillary plate is adjusted until
there is no longer any contact between the upper and lower
rows of teeth during the movements.
6. While sitting in the upright position, the patient is instruct-
ed to move his mandible back and forth as far as possible
while touching pin and registration plate. This procedure is
repeated 2 - 3 times.
