Safety
Carefully read and follow all safety instructions in this
manual or on pump.
This is the safety-alert. When you see this symbol
on your pump or in this manual, look for one of the
following signal words and be alert to the potential for
personal injury:
warns about hazards that will cause seri-
ous personal injury, death or major property damage if
ignored.
warns about hazards that can cause serious
personal injury, death or major property damage if
ignored.
warns about hazards that will or can cause
minor personal injury or property damage if ignored.
The word NOTE indicates special instructions which are
important but not related to hazards.
To avoid serious or fatal personal injury and possible
property damage, carefully read and follow the safety
instructions.
Risk of electrical shock or fire hazard if
improperly installed. This equipment must be installed
by technically competent personnel, in accordance with
the National Electrical Code and all applicable local

NOTICE: Before connecting the pump to the system, make
sure the well is clean. If it isn't, or you aren't sure, 'pump out'
the well to clean it out. Monitor the drive output amp draw
to be sure that the pump doesn't overload and overheat.
If necessary, throttle the discharge to prevent this. Once
the well is clean, follow the Installation Procedure, Page 3.

tem in swimming areas.
NOTE: Do not use power factor correction capacitors
with this Control; they will damage both the motor and
the Control.

HOW IT WORKS

This Control provides constant water pressure under
varying service conditions in submersible applications. It
drives a standard 1-1/2 HP 3-phase motor on a 3/4 HP
pump according to pressure needs received from an
accurate transducer. Motor speed varies to deliver con-
stant water pressure (within the limits of the pump)
despite variations in water demand and flow.
When the system flow demand is light, the pump runs at
a relatively low speed. As system demand increases, the
motor speed increases to maintain the preset system
pressure.
In general, when there is a demand for water, the Control
will be operating. However, with light demand, the pump
may cycle on and off at its minimum speed. This will not
damage either the motor or the pressure transducer.

For correct calibration SHUT OFF normal house
service, as well as any sprinkler zones, runouts,
hosebibbs, etc., which branch off between the pump
and the transducer.
Do this before initial startup and before
recalibrating the Control.
