Measurements with the dual probe
The appliance offers various possibilities for selecting the measurement mode. The
measurement mode can be selected by pressing the operating button with the
appliance switched on as described above.
Fe or NFe mode
For applications where the substrate is clearly defined, the Fe or NFe mode
■
can be set as the standard measurement mode.
The measurement mode currently being used is indicated along the left edge

of the display.
Fe/NFe mode
For continuous changes between steel and non-ferrous substrates, Fe/NFE
■
mode can be activated.
The mode is indicated on the display by a symbol with two round arrows.

The appliance is in semi-automatic mode.

At a change of substrate, a message is display signalling the change and

prompting the user to measure again by raising the appliance and then
placing on the substrate again.
With the NFe measurement method it is possible to carry out a
measurement on a ferromagnetic substrate (e.g. iron, steel).
