Wiring
Notes:
•
For complete wiring instructions, please refer to the Instruction Manual.
•
Verify that all system components are installed in accordance with instructions.
•
Connect all cable shields to the MultiRanger Shield Connections. Avoid Differential ground
potentials by not connecting cable shields to ground (earth) anywhere.
•
Keep exposed conductors on shielded cables as short as possible to reduce noise on the line
caused by stray transmissions and noise pickup.
Terminal Board
The terminal board on the MultiRanger allows all inputs and outputs to be connected simultaneously.
Note:
Recommended torque on terminal
clamping screws:
•
0.56 – 0.79 Nm (5 – 7 in.lbs)
Please do not overtighten the screws
Transducers
Warning: Hazardous voltage present on transducer terminals during
operation.
Run the transducer cable in a grounded metal conduit, separate from other
wiring (except TS-3 temperature sensor wiring, if applicable).
Notes
• Do not use coaxial cable because of electrical noise
interference
• Do not connect the shield and white transducer wires
together; wire to separate terminals.
• Disregard transducer manuals recommending these
practices
A 0.1 µF (100V or greater) capacitor is included with the MultiRanger for retrofitting old MultiRanger Plus
installations. Please refer to
Manual for more information.
