7. Remove brace from leg.
ONE-TIME STRAP LENGTH ADJUSTMENT (optional)
1. Remove alligator clip and trim straps so they terminate away from
the popliteal region. Then replace alligator clip on strap. (Figure 15)
2. Repeat for all straps.
TAMPER-PROOF STRAP LENGTH SET-UP
The brace ships with straps folded externally onto themselves for easy
adjustment. If desired, the straps may be reversed and folded with an
internal termination for a tamper-proof patient configuration:
1. Remove alligator clip.
2. Pull strap out of D-ring/buckle and thread through D-ring/buckle
from outside to inside.
3. Use double-sided hook provided to secure strap end.
4. Repeat for all straps.
RANGE OF MOTION (ROM) ADJUSTMENT
The device comes with a 0° extension stop installed. Additional
extension stops of 5°, 10°, and 15° have been provided.
TO CHANGE RANGE OF MOTION
1. Peel condyle pad from hinge.
2. Remove retaining screw.
3. Slide 0° stop out of hinge.
4. Insert desired extension stop.
5. Secure with retaining screw (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN).
6. Replace condyle pad on hinge.
NOTE: Optimal corrective forces are applied at full extension. If patient
requires an extension stop change, make sure to readjust tension in DFS
straps if more unloading is required.
