• Rooms of over 60 m² and corridors longer than 15 m require
several detectors.
• Maximum installation height is 6 m. With higher ceilings, we
recommend that you install several alarms at various heights.
• Install the device at least 4 m away from open
fireplaces and cookers.
• Install the base on the ceiling first, as near as possible to the
centre of the room (Fig. 3).
• Protect the device from dust when drilling holes.
• Place the detector on its base and turn clockwise until it clicks
into place (Fig. 5.1).
• Once the detector is correctly locked into the base (Fig. 5.1), the
smoke detector automatically switches on via the ON/OFF
switch on the underside (Fig. 4.1). The red LED flashes every 35
seconds (Fig. 5.2).
• Run the test function by pressing and holding the button
(Fig. 5.2) (min. 3 seconds), until you hear a loud, intermittent
alarm signal (see also Testing/Maintenance). In the event of
any technical issues, please contact the manufacturer or your
local distributor.
• If the smoke detector is removed from its base, it will switch off
after a few seconds.
4 • START-UP AND SETTINGS
You will hear a beep every time the button is pressed.
This button (Fig. 5.2) has a number of features:
• If the button is pressed briefly (max. 2 seconds), when the
alarm is triggered or just before it is triggered, the alarm signal
is muted for 10 min. During this time, a short beep will be
heard every 35 seconds (reminder signal).
• A fault signal can be muted for 12 hours by pressing the button
briefly (max. 2 seconds).
• To test the detector, press and hold the button for at least
3 seconds until a loud, intermittent alarm signal can be heard.
To reset, activate the test function (by pressing and holding the
button for at least 3 seconds until a loud, intermittent alarm signal
is heard) or remove the detector from the base for 10 seconds.
Exception: You cannot reset a fault signal indicating an
empty battery.
5 • TESTING/MAINTENANCE
• When activated, the detector's test function is fully checked in
accordance with DIN EN 14606: battery test, electronic smoke
chamber test, electronics test, etc..
• Testing should be carried out at least once a year to comply
with current regional standards for smoke alarms
(DIN 14676 in Germany).
• Press and hold the button (Fig. 5.2) for at least 3 seconds) until a
loud, intermittent alarm signal (approx. 85 dB/3m) can be heard.
• When necessary (usually about once a year), wipe the device
with a clean, dry cloth and carefully clean the outside with a
vacuum cleaner.
• Ensure that there is no furniture within a radius of 0.5 m that
could prevent smoke from being detected. If this is the case,
relocate the detector or move the relevant furniture.
• The device continuously and automatically tests the electronics,
battery voltage and internal resistance, the smoke chamber, etc.
• If necessary, sensitivity can be adjusted according to the
amount of dirt in the smoke chamber.
• The red LED (Fig. 5.2) flashes briefly every 35 seconds to
indicate that the device is operating correctly and activated.
• The smoke detector should be replaced if it is damaged or if
there is a fault indication that cannot be reset.
