Replacing Corner Protectors
(see figure D)
Remove worn corner protectors 20 and mount new
ones.
Mounting the Vacuum Hose
(see figure E)
Connect the vacuum hose 14 to the connection socket
(32 mm) 10.
Operation with extraction system
• When using the wall and ceiling sander, a class M
vacuum cleaner must be connected.
• When using a dust bag not approved for drywall
dusts, the amount of dust particles in the air at the
workplace can increase. Over longer periods, high
concentrations of dust in the air can cause damage
to the human breathing system.
Use a dust bag for drywall dusts in accordance with
the information provided with the vacuum cleaner.
Connect the vacuum hose to the extraction system.
Observe the operating instructions of the extraction sys-
tem! Check the connections! Use the matching
adapter, if required.
NOTE: If your vacuum cleaner should require a spe-
cial connection socket, the clip connector can be
removed and a matching adapter from the accessories
program can be selected.
Mounting the Extension
(see figure F)
With the extension tube 12, the reach when working
with the wall and ceiling sander can be increased.
Position the extension tube 12 from the bottom onto the
housing 4 and slide it towards the front until engaged.
For removal, press against the two lock notches and
remove the extension tube.
Operation
 Observe the mains voltage! The voltage of
the power source must correspond with the data on
the type plate of the machine.
Switching On and Off (see figure G)
Press the On/Off switch 9 to start the machine.
To lock the On/Off switch, press the lock-off button 6.
Release the On/Off switch 9.
To switch off the machine, press the On/Off switch
9 again.
Adjusting the Speed (see figure H)
Set the speed to the desired value with the thumbwheel
5.

Working Advice

For optimal extraction, switch the dust extraction on
first, then switch on the sander.
Always hold the sander with both hands. This allows
for the best-possible combination of reach and lever-
age for the application to be achieved.
Lightly press the sander via the swivelling sanding head
against the working surface. (see figure I)
Increase the pressure, so that the sanding plate faces
against the working surface. To smooth the drywall sur-
face, move the sander over the surface in an overlap-
ping motion.
Excessive pressure, irregular and unsteady motion lead
to an uneven surface and scratches.
Note: The rotating sanding plate may not come into
contact with sharp, projecting objects (e. g., nails or
screws). This can cause serious damage to the sanding
plate.
Brush Collar
The swivelling sanding head is applied to the working
surface via the brush collar. This prevents the sanding
tool from having immediate contact to the working sur-
face, and possibly causing grooves or indentations
through the edge of the rotating sanding plate.
The brush collar also retains drywall dust until it is
drawn in by the vacuum cleaner.
Replace the brush collar when damaged or heavily
worn (see Section "Changing the Brush Collar (see fig-
ure C)").
Sanding in Drywall Construction
The wall and ceiling sander is equipped with a unique
tilting head. As this tilting head can swivel in various
directions, it can adapt to the working surface. This
allows the operator to sand the upper, centre and bot-
tom wall areas or ceiling joints without having to
change his position.
While sanding, the pressure applied on the sanding
head should only be sufficient to keep the sanding
plate in contact with the working surface. Excessive
pressure can lead to an undesired spiral-shaped
scratch pattern as well as to unevenness in the working
surface.
Always keep the sander in motion while the sanding
plate is in contact with the working surface. The move-
ments should be uniform and with wide area coverage.
