-TWIN HIGH PRESSURE OLEODINAMIC VICE
The
-TWIN vise is supplied ready for work, packaged in a wooden box. This box is designed
fundamentally for use as a storage case whilst the vise is not in use.
The vise is supplied with the following standard accessories:
• A fourth jaw (second main jaw)
• Set of clamps.
• Knob
The staff in charge of the setting up of this vise must study, in detail, the present instructions before
starting.
A.- OPERATION
The TWIN-OLD vises have a spring cylinder which provides the return effect. For operation, this vise
REQUIRES an exterior high-pressure oil supply (500 bar).
This supply system can be achieved by way of an electric pump, a hydro-pneumatic pump or by way
of a pressure multiplier positioned at the hydraulic group outlet of the machine where the vise is to work.
The oil which reaches the vise in this manner comes up to the spindle by way of a rotatory adapter
(
thread) installed in the clamp.
This vise carries out two movements: an automatic approach/return, and a high-pressure clamping/release.
The approach/return movement is 4m/m at the two points. Apart from this movement, this model allows
for the clamping of two pieces of different lengths, up to a total maximum of 5 mm.
In order to adjust the clamping strength, regulate the pressure of the oil at the vise input.
The manner of working is straightforward. The vise is designed to work with series of pieces of the same
lengths (+- 4m/m). In this case, the manner of working is as follows: using the handle, move the movable
jaws to the pieces to be clamped, bring back the movable jaws three millimetres (or half-turn the handle),
and then start up the pump to produce the high-pressure clamping.
B.- CLEANING
Given the environment in which these vises must work (chippings, drillings, high-pressure, etc) in
mechanised work areas, regular cleaning is essential. Simple cleaning will usually suffice, using the
windows located on the sides of the vise.
Exhaustive cleaning should be carried out every 1000 operation hours. To this end, release the 4 screws
(4026-090 or 4051-125) of the clamp, release the main jaw and remove the two nuts and the spindle,
along with the protection plates, from the vise, taking care that the nuts do not turn in the spindle.
Clean the body and any chippings which have stuck to the spindles or which are within the nuts.
We recommend lubricating the movable parts.
C.- REMOVING THE VISE SPINDLE Model 090
1. Move the side jaws to the centre of the vise.
2. Release the side jaws and the protection plates. Check that the protection plates are not twisted or
bent.
3. Release the main jaw (4131 or 4106) and the key slots (4122).
4. Release the four screws of the clamp (4026).
5. Introduce a spanner in the spindle groove (4407). Introduce the knob in the adapter hexagon and,
turning anticlockwise, release the adapter.
6. Release the Allen set screw (215) from the lining and, using an articulated spanner, release the lining
and the clamp.
7. Now we can remove all the spindle remaining in the vise body.
D.- REMOVING THE VISE SPINDLE Model 125
1. Move the side jaws to the centre of the vise.
2. Release the Allen set screw (215) and unscrew (4035).
3. Release the side jaws and the protection plates. Check that the protection plates are not twisted or
bent.
