Instructions for Use
A.
Remove the HALYARD* Cytology Brush from the package and inspect for damage.
B.
Grasp handle (A). Advance and retract the brush (B) to observe
and become familiar with the operation of the device. Retract
brush before introducing through endoscope.
C.
Introduce brush catheter through biopsy channel valve on endoscope. Advance
D.
Depress and retract thumb ring on handle to obtain cell samples.
E.
Retract thumb ring on handle until brush is entirely inside catheter.
Withdraw catheter from biopsy channel of endoscope.
F.
To obtain specimen, depress thumb ring on handle and extend
brush beyond catheter. Process specimen in routine manner.
Warning
Do not reuse, reprocess, or resterilize this medical device. Reuse, reprocessing, or resterilization
structural integrity of the device, 3) lead to the device not performing as intended, or 4) create a risk
of contamination and cause the transmission of infectious diseases resulting in patient injury, illness,
or death.
