Step 9
It is preferred that you secure the SAFETY BRACKET (1G) under the TOP SHELF (F) by fastening it to two studs in your wall.
å
NOTE: Studs are typically 16" on center. If you can fi nd two studs behind your unit, then use only the STUD installation method
å
below. If you cannot fi nd a second stud, then you must fasten one SAFETY BRACKET (1G) to a stud in your wall and one safety bracket
to a WALL ANCHOR (22M) using both installations below.
WALL ANCHOR INSTALLATION
å
1. While holding the SAFETY BRACKET (1G) against the BACK (I), fasten it to the bottom surface of the TOP SHELF (F).
Use a WHITE 7/16" LARGE HEAD SCREW (89S).
NOTE: There is no pre-drilled hole in the bottom surface of the TOP SHELF. Use extra force when turning the SCREW.
2. Next, drill a 1/8" hole through the SAFETY BRACKET single hole, through the BACK and slightly into the wall to mark
the hole for the next step.
3. Pull the unit away from the wall and drill a 1/4" hole in the wall on the drilled mark from step 2.
4. Turn the WALL ANCHOR (22M) into 1/4" hole in the wall until it is fl ush with the surface of the wall.
5. Fasten the unit to the wall. Use a SILVER 2" LARGE HEAD SCREW (88S) through the BACK, through a SPACER (1E), and into the
WALL ANCHOR.
STUD INSTALLATION
å
1. Locate the center of a stud in your wall behind your unit and mark it with a pencil vertically above the BACK (J).
Vertically transfer this mark down 4-3/8" making a second mark onto the front surface of the BACK.
NOTE: This mark should be vertically inline with the stud 1/2" below the bottom surface of the SHELF (F).
2. Using this mark on the BACK, drill a 1/8" hole through the BACK and into the stud in your wall.
3. Fasten the SAFETY BRACKET (1G) to the BACK through the drilled hole. Use a SILVER 2" LARGE HEAD SCREW (88S)
through the BACK, through a SPACER (1E), and into the hole in the wall stud.
4. Fasten the SAFETY BRACKET (1G) to the bottom surface of the TOP SHELF (F). Use a WHITE 7/16" LARGE HEAD
SCREW (89S). Repeat the STUD installation if you located a second stud behind your unit.
