Procedure

All data and programs on the USB stick will be
erased during the process of creating a bootable
recovery USB stick.

Administrator rights are required for creating a
bootable recovery USB stick!

In the following description of the creation of a
bootable recovery USB stick, the open-source soft-
ware "Rufus" is used as an example.
1. Download software for creating a bootable USB stick, e.g.
"Rufus" (https://rufus.ie).
2. Install the "Rufus" software.
3. Insert the USB stick into the computer.
4. Launch the "Rufus" software.
5. Under "Drive," select the USB stick as the target
medium.
6. Select<SELECTION>.
7. Select the desired image.
8. Select the "GPT" partitioning scheme and "UEFI
(non CSM)" target system.

Under "Drive name," the recovery USB stick can be
given a different name.
9. Select <START>.
10. Use <OK> to acknowledge the warning about losing
the data saved to the selected USB stick.

A bootable recovery USB stick will be created (dura-
tion: approx. 1 h).

Operating system recovery

All data and programs on the hard drive will be
erased during the recovery process.
1. Use the power supply unit to supply the DCU 100
with power.
2. Connect a keyboard to the USB port of the DCU 100.
3. Insert the recovery USB stick into the USB port of
the DCU 100.
4. Switch the DCU 100 on.
The following message will be displayed:

The DCU 100 will be shut down.
11. Switch the DCU 100 on.
Windows will launch and begin initial commissi-
oning.
12. Read and follow the instructions on the screen.
13. Remove the USB keyboard.

14. Install and perform the licensing process for
ESI[tronic] 2.0 (optional).
