Operation

4.1

Switching on/off

Switching on and off via the on/off switch on the
brake tester's electrical cabinet.
4.2

Self-test

4.2.1

After switch-on

After the PSC 2 has been switched on, the system per-
forms a full self-test within 2 seconds:
 Red key on release unit lights up (not ready for
operation).
 Activate the PSC 2 manually.
4.2.2

Constantly

The PSC 2 performs a self-test in the background every
2 seconds during operation.

Activating

4.3.1
After switch-on
The PSC 2 must be activated upon switching-on the
brake tester:
 Red key on release unit lights up (not ready for
operation).
1. Make sure that the working pit is clear and nobody is
in the vicinity of the light guard.
2. Press the release unit key:
 A self-test is performed. If the light guard is not
obstructed, PSC 2 switches to "ready for operati-
on".
 Light in key release unit off.
 PSC 2 is activated.

4.3.2

After shut-down

The brake tester is shut down if the light guard of the
PSC 2 is interrupted, e.g. due to presence of someone
in the detection field:
 Stop brake tester motors.
 Test rollers stationary.
 Red key on release unit lights up (not ready for
operation).
The PSC 2 must be activated again to continue the
brake test:
1. Determine and rectify the cause of shut-down.
2. Leave the working pit.
3. Press the release unit key:
 A self-test is performed. If the light guard is not
obstructed, PSC 2 switches to "ready for operati-
on".
 Light in key release unit off.
 PSC 2 is activated.
