Intended Use

The interface module SMibs is intended for
installation in the tightening control system
SE302 or communication unit KE300. With
this interface, a tightening system is con-
trolled.
The SMibs interface module is an

S-slave. It enables the tightening

system 300 to be connected to the I
B
-S field bus.

Via this connection, the tightening system
can be controlled by the superior control sys-
tem, e.g. PLC control. The SMibs is inserted
into one of the open card slots on the KE300
communications unit. The module takes up
an address size of max 160 I/O points
(20 Bytes) on the field bus. Depending on
the tightening system requirements, this ad-
dress size is adjustable from 16 I/O points
(2 Bytes) up to 160 I/O points (20 Bytes).
Adjustments are made in steps of 2 Bytes us-
ing the BS300 operating system. Via the
pure I/O coupling, the SMibs offers the pos-
sibility to transfer tightening result data
through the PCP data channel (Peripherals
Communication Protocol) to the bus master.
