Instructions for use for electric
cool boxes with special equipment
If your electric cool box feature one of the following special equipment,
please note the respective tips for use or startup. The features of your cool
box are indicated on the silver nameplate.
Special equipment LCD temperature indicator
The LCD always provides information on the interior temperature whilst
operating your cool box. The temperature can be displayed in Celsius or
Fahrenheit.
Startup
The LCD does not start automatically when using the cool box for the first
time. Press the „Power" button to start the LCD. The respective interior temper-
ature will then straight away be shown in the display. Please note, the LCD
will only work when your cool box is connected to a 12 V or 24 V or 230 V
power source.
Celsius/Fahrenheit display
After starting up, the LCD will automatically show the temperature in Celsius.
To show the temperature in Fahrenheit, press the „C/F" button. The display
will then switch to Fahrenheit mode.
Switching off
To switch the LCD off, also press the „Power" button and hold for
approx. 5 seconds.
Special equipment built-in ADP system
(automatic battery discharge protection)
This system ensures safe cool box operation in vehicles without risking deep
discharging your car battery.
The electric cool box will automatically switch off at approx. 11.5 V battery
voltage, and your car battery therefore maintains sufficient power to start
your car without problems.
In general, the box features an ON/OFF switch for the ADP system so you
have the option to operate the electric cool box with or without ADP. This is
important when connecting your cool box to the mains with a 230 / 12 V
power supply. In this case you should deactivate the ADP.
Very important: With the ADP system on, the cool box will not cool
when e.g. using an extension cord with an inadequate cable diameter, or a
230 / 12 V power supply with output power less than 5.8 Amp. In this case,
simply deactivate the ADP system. The cool box will then also start operating
with the ADP deactivated, but with a lower current draw, so the cooling ca-
pacity can be expected to be reduced.
Important! – to maintain the cooling capacity therefore only use
genuine Ezetil accessories.
When connecting to a vehicle's 12 Volt on-board outlet
please note:
ADP deactivated: your cool box will immediately begin operating.
ADP activated: Your must first start the car's engine to activate the ADP
system. The LED indicates your cool box is now operating with ADP activated.
If you now turn your vehicle off, the cool box will continue operating approx.
3 hours, depending on the battery condition, until the cool box only detects
a voltage of approx. 11.5 V; the cool box will then automatically switch off.
If you later turn your vehicle back on, the cool box will automatically restart
with ADP activated.
Special equipment 12 / 24 V automatic
current detection with built-in ADP
(automatic battery drain protection)
This system allows you to the operate your cool box either on a 12 V
(automotive) or 24 V (lorry) connection, with the built-in car battery discharge
protection preventing deep discharging of your car or lorry battery.
When connecting to a car's 12 V power source (cigarette lighter) the cool
box will only operate whilst supplied with a voltage of 11.4 to 16.0 V. If the
current supply drops below 11.4 V, the cool box will automatically switch off,
ensuring sufficient battery power to easily start the car. After restarting the
car and the battery is again charged so the current supply rises above the
required minimum level of 11.4 V, the cool box will start cooling again and
the process will repeat.
When connected to a 24 V power source, e.g. that of a lorry, the cool box
will operate whilst supplied with a voltage of 23 to 29 V. If the current supply
drops below 23 V, the cool box will automatically switch off, ensuring suffi-
cient battery power to easily start the lorry. After restarting the car and the
battery is again charged so the current supply rises above the required mini-
mum level of 23 V, the cool box will start cooling again and the process will
repeat.
AttentIon – Important information about use! For safety
reasons, the cool box will not operate at a current supply of 16 to 23 V!
Please note, the cool box always requires an adequate supply of current
(see above minimum levels) to operate.
Please note the functionality of the ON/OFF switch for the ADP feature,
refer to chapter „Special equipment built-in ADP system (automatic battery
discharge protection)".
When operating the cool box via the car's 12 V power outlet, please note
the information under „Special equipment 12 / 24 V automatic current
detection with built-in ADP (automatic battery-discharge protection)".
