Disposing of old batteries
Don't put old batteries into your normal household waste! Please make use of the battery dis-
posal system that has been set up in your country. Only dispose of empty batteries.
You can generally assume a battery is empty when the device in which it is installed stops
working properly.
As protection against a short circuit, you could cover the battery poles with adhesive tape.
Germany, all consumers are legally obliged to return used batteries to a battery disposal
scheme. In most countries, you can return old batteries free to the store where you bought
them.
Or take them to any store that sells batteries, or to community offices or to community waste
recycling facilities.
These are the most common hazardous substances found in batteries:
Pb = battery contains lead
Cd = battery contains cadmium

your dealer or your local waste disposal and recycling facilities on how to dispose of packa-
