BIP LD2-T017-01-EP _ _ / EP _ _ -S4
Inductive Positioning System
The CE symbol confirms that our products
comply with the requirements of the current
EU directive.
Intended use
The inductive positioning system BIP with IO-Link
interface, together with a machine controller (PLC) and an
IO-Link master, comprises a positioning/displacement
measurement system. It is intended to be installed into a
machine or system and used in the industrial sector.
Opening the BIP or non-approved use are not permitted
and will result in the loss of warranty and liability claims
against the manufacturer.

Dimensions and function
The BIP inductive positioning system detects the position
of the metallic magnet and outputs it as an IO-Link output
signal.

General safety notes
Installation and startup may only be performed by
trained specialists.
The operator is responsible for ensuring that local safety
regulations are observed.
In particular, the operator must take steps to ensure that a
defect in the BIP will not result in hazards to persons or
equipment.
If defects and unresolvable faults occur in the BIP, take it
out of service and secure against unauthorized use.
Cable routing
Defined ground!
The BIP and the control cabinet must be at the
same ground potential.
Magnetic fields
The BIP operates according to the eddy current principle.
It is important to maintain adequate distance between the
BIP and strong, external magnetic fields.
Cable routing
Do not route the cable between the BIP, controller, and
power supply near high voltage cables (inductive stray
noise is possible).
Inductive stray noise from AC harmonics (e.g. from phase
angle controls) are especially critical and the cable shield
offers very little protection against this.
Cable length
Max. cable length 20 m. Longer cables may be used
if their construction, shielding and routing prevent noise
interference.
Bending radius for fixed cable
The bending radius for a fixed cable must be at least three
times the cable diameter.
