REAR PANEL FUNCTIONS (CONT.)
• 1 x 4 OHM, 2 x 8 OHM: connect a
single 4 Ohm speaker cabinet or two 8
Ohm cabinets.
Important Note: Before unplugging the
speaker or speaker cabinet(s) you MUST
switch the amplifier off and disconnect
it from the mains electricity supply.
Switching on without a speaker load
WILL damage the amplifier. NEVER
attempt to connect more speakers or
speaker cabinets than rated.
5. F/S
Use this jack socket to connect the
supplied 2-way LED footswitch (Part
# PEDL-91007) to the amplifier. The
footswitch selects BOOST and switches
the FX Loop in and out.
Technical Note: When the footswitch
is plugged in it overrides the BOOST
toggle switch (Front Panel Function #3)
and the LOOP toggle switch (Rear Panel
Function #6).
6. LOOP
This is a toggle switch that allows you
to switch the FX Loop in and out, if the
footswitch is not connected. When the
FX Loop is switched on, the LOOP status
LED on the front panel will light and
glow amber (Front Panel Function #9)
Tonal Note: The FX Loop is true
bypass, ensuring that tonal integrity is
maintained when it is switched out of
the circuit.
7. SEND
The SEND jack socket connects the
amplifier's preamp to an external FX
input, or to an external power amp.
Nominal level is -10dBV.
Important Note: Using the SEND
jack socket to connect to an external
power amp does not omit the need
for a speaker to be connected to the
Astoria Custom's output stage. See the
Important Note on Rear Panel Function
#4.
8. RETURN
This jack socket connects the amplifier
to an external FX output.
9. LOOP LEVEL
This is a level control on the loop
RETURN, which balances the external
FX level with the amplifier level.
Technical Note: When there is nothing
connected to the FX Loop, the LOOP
LEVEL can be used to provide additional
output level control. This can be
achieved by turning up the LOOP Level
control and engaging the FX Loop using
either the LOOP toggle switch (Rear
Panel Function #6) or the supplied
footswitch. This gives you two volume
levels that can be selected during
performance.
