STATEMENT OF USE
The zero gravity balancer is exclusively designed
for relieving (counterbalancing) the weight of
hand-held tools (such as drilling machines,
screwdrivers, welding tongs, slaughterhouse
machines) and feed lines (such as cables and
hoses) during work.
No other use is permitted.
For professional use only.

TECHNICAL DATA

● See page 3.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

● Do not use the balancer in environments with
potentially explosive atmospheres.
● Do not permit children or people under age to
use the balancer.
● Do not work, transit or linger underneath the
balancer.
● When using balancers, always fully and duly
comply with the standards and laws in force in
the country in which they are used.
Desoutter will not be held liable for any damage
or problems caused by customers using these
balancers for any other application.

Prior to installing the balancer, verify
that the suspension structure to which
the balancer and its safety chain are
fastened provide adequate stability.
Only specially authorized and trained persons are
permitted to install the zero gravity balancer and
make cable length or load adjustments.
Balancers with a plastic housing must not be
installed in the immediate vicinity of hot-air
blowers.
If the zero gravity balancer is to be operated with
welding tongs, insulated suspension is required
to provide isolation from leakage currents. Be
sure to observe your national/local regulations.
The suspension structures to which the zero
gravity balancer and the anti-crash safety device
are to be fitted must be designed with a safety
factor of at least 5 (i.e. 5 x [own weight of
balancer + maximum permissible load]).
1. Using the safety suspension (2), fasten the
zero gravity balancer to a suspension structure
that provides adequate stability.
2. Make sure that the balancer cannot slip out of
the safety hook (2) => tighten the lock nut.
3. Fasten the anti-crash safety device (3) to an
independent suspension structure (other than
that of the safety suspension), making sure that:
- the range of movement of the zero gravity
balancer is not in any way restricted.
- the falling distance does not exceed 100
mm if the balancer drops down!
Adjusting the cable length
● See Figure 1 page 5.
If the zero gravity balancer is delivered with a
cable wedge fitted to the cable, it is possible to
use the excess cable length available.
1. To lengthen the cable, pull it through the cable
wedge (6), making sure that a minimum distance
of 100 mm is maintained between the cable
wedge (6) and the cable clamp (5).
2. Following length adjustment, press the ferrule
(7) supplied in place on the cable.
3. Cut off the cable end extending beyond the
ferrule (7).
Adjusting the cable stop buffer
● See Figure 1 page 5.
CAUTION! Never exceed the
maximum permissible cable
extension length.
