Installation Instructions
Remove the existing shift knob and boot assembly as shown below:
Note: The transmission control lever boot and knob are replaced as an assembly
1. Remove the shift control knob (1). Note: The shift boot is shown semi-transparent for fastener location.
2. Using a flat bladed trim tool, detach the transmission control lever boot (1) from the console.
3. Lift the transmission control lever boot to access the shift knob fastener (2).
4. Remove the fastener, then lift off the transmission control lever boot and knob assembly.
5. Place the shifter in the Neutral position.
6. Remove the front floor console trim plate.
7. Grab the trim plate just behind the shifter and gentle pull up.
Install the new shift boot and knob assembly as shown below:
1. Clean the stub shaft and fastener (2) threads prior to reinstalling the shift knob to remove residual thread locker.
2. Position the transmission control lever boot and knob assembly on the transmission control lever.
3. Apply thread locker to the shift knob fastener (2) and install the fastener.
4. Tighten the fastener to 9 N-M (80 lb in).
5. Install the transmission control lever boot (1) to the console.
6. Reinstall trim plates.
