thermal insulation in your buil-
ding is not so good and reduced hea-
ting operation is necessary (e. g., at
night) to prevent considerable cooling.
During reduced operation, the heating
equipment remains in operation with
reduced temperature for any outdoor
temperature and the pump runs.
Normal Operation: The feed tempera-
ture is regulated continuously accor-
ding to the heating curve. The time
control is without function.

the time control for reducing/switching

Adjusting the Heating Curve
The heating curve determines what feed
temperature will be set by the heating equip-
ment for a particular measured outdoor tem-
perature. By means of a correctly adjusted
heating curve, a constant room temperature
is maintained for any outdoor temperature.
The heating curve (Fig.
results from a base point (c) and the maxi-
mum feed temperature (e).
8.3.1 Base Point
Adjustment (c)
The base point of the heating curve is the
feed temperature in °C at + 20 °C outdoor
temperature. Values between 10 and 60 (°C)
can be set.
The heating curve shown in Fig.
base point of 25 °C. This setting of the base
point should be selected as a first starting
point.

Maximum Feed

Temperature (e)
On the feed temperature selector of the hea-
ting unit (e), the maximum heating feed tem-
perature is adjustable between 35 and 88 °C.
The maximum feed temperature setting of
point e in Fig.
is reached at an outdoor

temperature of –15 °C.
Attention: For the use of the regulator in
the "Thermen" heating boilers ZWR...-3/-4

position). Therefore, limit the set value for
the maximum feed temperature (Fig.
Point e) accordingly with feed temperature li-
miting (right end position) (see the installa-
tion instructions for the "Thermen" Boiler). In
this manner, the correct maximum feed tem-
perature for winter operation is always achie-
ved at the right end position.
The following table shows the temperature
settings that correspond to the values 1 to 7
on the scale of the feed temperature selec-
tor:
