Maintaining your drive

This section contains maintenance information for your IBM USB Portable 2.0
CD-RW Drive.
v Do not remove the ac adapter while the drive is in use
v Turn screensavers off - using a screensaver may interrupt the formatting and
writing process of CDs.
v Place the drive in a stable place without any vibration or tilt - movement of
the drive while formatting or writing a disc may cause data errors
v Handle the CD by the edges or the center hole - do not touch the surface of
the CD
v To remove dust or fingerprints, wipe the CD from the center to the edge
with a soft, lint-free cloth - do not wipe in a circular motion as this may
cause data loss
v Do not use commercial cleaners to clean the CD
v Do not touch the internal lens of the CD-RW drive
v Remove any CD from the drive before transporting the drive
v Do not operate the drive under these conditions: high temperature, high
humidity, direct sunlight, inclined surface, excessive vibration/shock,
excessive dust, damp environment, or near liquids that may spill causing
damage to the drive
v Do not stack objects on the drive
