Installing the Microdrive restart file for Windows
98 or Windows 95 OSR2
If you want Windows 98 or Windows 95 OSR2 to detect the Microdrive
storage card when you insert it before computer startup, you must
install the Microdrive restart file.
To install the Microdrive restart file for Windows 98 or Windows 95
OSR2, do the following:
Note: You can launch the restart file from a diskette drive or from a
temporary directory on your hard disk drive.
1. If you are not going to launch the file from a diskette, go to step 2.
If you are going to launch the file from a diskette, insert a blank
diskette into the diskette drive.
2. Go to the Microdrive Web site at www.hgst.com/microdrive
3. Copy the MD9XFIX.EXE file to a blank diskette or to a temporary
directory.
4. Click Start.
5. Click Run.
6. If you are launching the restart file from a blank diskette, type
A:\MD9XFIX.EXE in the command line and click OK. If you are
launching the restart file from a temporary directory, browse to the
directory and select the MD9XFIX.EXE file; then click OK.
7. Click Finish to open the installation window.
8. Click Next.
9. Click Finish.
10. Close all applications and restart your computer.
