OPERATING OF THE TOOL
Before starting work, sharpener should be placed on a level, flat, and hard surface. Ensure that all foot tools are resting on the
ground. Sharpener steel should be used only in dry spaces, with no access for bystanders, especially children.
Mode of the operation
The tool is not designed for continuous operation. It should work in intermittent operation mode and after each period lasting two
minutes, use a break lasting eight minutes. Not complying with the intermittent operation mode can overload the tool and result
in its irreversible damage.
Installation and replacement of the working head
Attention! Before beginning any work associated with installation or replacement of the working head, make sure that the tool
switch is in the "off" position and the power cord is disconnected from the mains outlet.
In order to remove the mounted head you should loosen the collar screw (II), and then remove the operating head.
When installing the operating head it must be noted that in the mounting flange there is a notch (III) which allows for mounting
head in the right position. In addition, head arbor should be adapted to the shape of tool spindle (IV).
After attaching the head, tighten screw flange bracket, and then make sure that the head does not come out of the body during operation.
Sharpening of the drill bit
Select a hole in the head of the same diameter as the drill bit intended to be sharpened. Turn on the sharpener by its switch and
wait until grinding wheel reaches the rated speed. Enter the drill bit into hole in head, and when you hear the sound of grinding,
move it back and forth for 5 - 10 seconds while pressing the drill bit with a small force to the grinding pad. Removed drill bit from
the head, and then repeat the operation for the second cutting edge of the drill bit. Sharpened edge is always located close to the
outer edge of the head.
Head holes are formed with protrusions limiting rotation of the drill in the hole. This facilitates the process of sharpening.
Attention! Each surface must be sharpened for the same amount of time and should be pushed with the same force. This will
prevent uneven sharpening of the drill bit.
After drill sharpening it is necessary to evaluate the results of work. If the drill tip after sharpening takes on blue color or other,
different in relation to the natural color of steel, it indicates overheating of the surface and you should reduce the pressure which
is applied to drill towards the grinding wheel.
If, after sharpening, the edges of the drill bit are not equal in length, adjust time and pressure for sharpening each side of the drill.
Shartener is used to sharpen dull drills and is not suitable for regeneration of the cutting edges after drill fracture or complete
destruction of its cutting edges. The time of such work is excessive in relation to the mode in which the machine can operate.
Following process of the grinding wheel wear the control dial (V) must be lifted. Turnover in the "UP" direction raises the wheel
and in the "DOWN" direction lowers it.
Replacing of the grinding wheel
Attention! Replace the grinding wheels only with the original wheels supplied by the manufacturer. Do not modify wheels to match
the size of the head or axle. Do not use used larger wheels in a smaller head.
When even the maximum lifting of wheel does not allow for the sharpening or sharpening does not work properly, replace the
grinding wheel.
To do this, remove the head from the sharpener body, and then unscrew the two screws holding head cover (VI). Remove the
cover, then remove the wheel with its axis (VII). Unscrew the shaft and remove the flanges that secure the wheel (VIII). Clean
the inside of the head, and then install a new grinding wheel between the fastening flanges and screw in axis. Mount the entire
system inside head and mount the cover. Turn the adjustment knob fully in the direction marked "DOWN". Perform a few turns of
the wheel axis in the direction indicated by the arrow on the side of the head, ensuring at the same time that the wheel does not
touch the walls of the head.
MAINTENANCE AND OVERHAUL
ATTENTION! Before any adjustment, technical service or maintenance operations unplug the tool. Once the operations have been
finished, the technical conditions of the tool must be assessed by means of external evaluation and inspection of the following
elements: body and handle, conductor with a plug and deflection, functioning of the electric switch, patency of ventilation slots,
sparking of brushes, noise level of functioning of bearings and gears, start-up and smoothness of operation. During the guarantee
period, the user cannot dismantle the electric tools or change any sub-assemblies or elements, since it will cancel any guarantee
rights. All irregularities detected at overhaul or during functioning of the tools are a signal to have the tool repaired at a service
shop. Once the functioning has been concluded, the casing, ventilation slots, switches, additional handle and protections must be
cleansed with a stream of air (at a pressure not exceeding 0.3 MPa), with a brush or a cloth without any chemical substances or
cleaning liquids. Tools and handles must be cleansed with a clean cloth.
