1. Lubricate the axis (1a & 1b), collar bushings (2), springs (8) and stop pins
(5/7) with Molykote lubricant.
2. Position the first brass collar bushing (2) on the medial joint side.
3. Insert the stirrup (12/13) into the joint housing.
4. Position the axis part (1a) at the medial joint side and push it through the
recess of the stirrup (12/13).
5. Now place the axial washer (3) on the lateral side over the axis of the
axle part (1a). Attention: there are three different washers with different
thicknesses included. Depending on the internal axle play, a suitable
washer can be inserted to compensate this play.
6. Now place the second brass collar bushing (2) on the lateral joint side.
7. Place axle part 1b over axle part 1a and apply Loctite 242 to the
countersunk axle screw (4).
8. Then tighten the countersunk axle screw (4) to the correct torque
(1.0 Nm).
9. If desired, place a spring-pin combination under the set screws (6).
Adjustment
There are three different varieties available to either support or limit
dorsal flexion/plantar flexion, which can individually be combined. Use
set screw (pos. 6) to adjust the ankle joint to individual patient needs.
